History
Ing. Michal Štěpánek began doing business in printing industry in 1995.
Thanks to steep growth of the firm its working spaces as well as machinery could go through radical changes during the years 1999-2001. In October 2001 Ing. Michal Štěpánek set up the printing works Grafico s.r.o., which acts as an intermediate party in business relations with the majority of clients and disposes of a quality commercial team enabling constant development of both firms. As a very important milestone in the firm history it was a purchase of the Heidelberg Speedmaster 74-5 five-tinctorial machine in 2003, thanks to it a considerable increase in productivity of labour and excellent quality of the resulting printed papers could be attained. Another important investment it was introduction of the CTP technology and a purchase of another KBA Performa 74 five-tinctorial machine.
In 2006 a four-floor building was then built next to the present place of business, in which finishing processing and warehousing were concentrated.
In the years 2007 – 2008 other important investments and a growth of an interannual turnover in the range of tens percent came about. This increase was inter alia connected with a purchase of the Heidelberg Printmaster two-tinctorial printing machine with a possibility of a duplex print with one pass, the second collating-and-gathering machine for the V1Theisen&Bonitz-Sprint binding and the KAMA ProCut cutting-out automatic machine. From the competitiveness and retention of the technology leader position in the region point of view as an essential condition it was alteration of the CTP technology to a thermal process, which occurred in 2008.

Several years the Grafico printing works already rank among the most important printing companies in the Moravian-Silesian region. The entire activity of ours is aimed at the maximum satisfaction of our customers’ requirements not only in the Czech Republic but also abroad. Thanks to non-stop operation and the state-of-the-art manufacturing and information technologies we are able to respond operatively to wishes of our customers. Starting from calculation, offer, order up to sending background papers for printing - all is under electronic way.
As one of few companies the Grafico concentrates to supply of a wide assortment in the printing production. We are aimed at printing of large orders, periodicals, catalogues, books and also printing of small-lot leaflets, posters and business cards.
The continuous growth of the firm resulted in necessity to leave the original places of the printing works in the central part of the Opava town that did not give space for further development yet. After 3 years of planning, half a year of intensive construction and very hectic November and December 2010 when we installed new technological complexes and under full operation relocated the present technologies, from January 2011 we can welcome our clients at quite a new and modern area in Opava-Kylešovice

In the area of the prepress we are equipped with a quick connection to internet with own FTP server, data and correction check, CTP Heidelberg Suprasetter of the second generation with an automatic loader, with interconnected CIP3 printing machines and a digital proof copy into the B3 format.
In the printing hall we have
installed the Heidelberg five-tinctorial machine in the B2 format, a
five-tinctorial machine with the Heidelberg varnishing unit (the
chamber spatula system) in the B2 format, the Heidelberg
two-tinctorial machine in the B2 format with a possibility to
adjusting in SW (face side and underside with one pass) and also the
small Heidelberg two-tinctorial machine in the B3 format. The printing
process is continuously checked by automatic scanning
spectrophotometers with a polarizing head.
In the bookbinding processing we then dispose of a number of
technologies, of which the most important there are: the fully
automated STAHLFOLDERTH 82 pocket folding machine, V1 STAHL/BREHMER model ST350 gathering and wire stitching machine for binding, the THEISEN&BONITZ
SPRINT B314VP + 303QSM collating-and-gathering machine, the HORIZON
BQ470 EVA/PUR backbone gluing machine, the POLAR 115 XT cutting
centre, the digital partial UV varnish KOMFI - SPOTMATIC 54 and the
KAMA ProCut 74 cutting-out automatic machine.
